In the 70’s, our production definitely switched to antimony trioxide and the company name became SICA.
In the 80’s, SICA was amongst the first companies to propose tailor-made flame retardant solutions under masterbatches forms (granules obtained by extrusion process) and enlarged their offer with a wide range of antimony trioxide grades of specific tinting strength. In the 90’s, always pushed by the will to better understand the final applications of our customers, we developed a large range of liquid compounds – our Sicastab pastes – to fulfill the major flame retardant norms in the tarpaulin field (PVC coating on polyester fabrics). Thanks to our new capability to measure by transparency the color of our products, we also introduced new specifications for our antimony trioxide grades. In 1991, SICA was amongst the first French companies to be certified ISO 9002.
In 1999, SICA was acquired by the American investment fund “Safeguard International”.
In 2007, SICA became part of the AMG group.
